Dominique Way
Since finding herself in a tiny Toronto apartment last year, Dominique Way has found herself writing music that embodies the raw authenticity of modern life whilst crafting rich melodies that feel homely and potent. Born into a musical family, Way recalls growing up on a healthy diet of Carole King and Janis Ian as well as finding constant joy in performing for her family. A move to Australia following her high school graduation led her to ultimately realise that music was more than just her passion - it was her calling.
Upon returning to Canada in 2020, Way enrolled on Fanshawe College’s music industry arts program. She began throwing herself at every opportunity she could grab to play live: “dive bar and pub gigs, wedding receptions, corporate shows, backyard parties - literally anything”. Releasing her debut single ‘Your Problems Are Mine’ led to fast-rising acclaim as she expanded her discography throughout the year. Amassing well over a hundred thousand streams since debuting in January, with industry support including a handful of Spotify Editorials, Dominique Way gears up to release her debut EP Sprig.
